Amy: I first met Alex when I was planning my son's first Birthday party. I had come across her web site and was impressed with the photos of her cake creations. As this was a special birthday, I wanted something spectacular, something more memorable than a traditional slab cake. I decided to contact Alex via email with a picture of a cake idea and to request a quote. She replied quickly, was courteous, and included specific details of what she could offer me. I knew then and there that I had gone to the right person! She even followed up with me to ensure that the end result was exactly what I wanted. I was very excited to meet her and see her creation. When I finally met her to pick up my son's cake on April 10th 2010, I didn't know quite what to expect; Alex was a working mom who hadn't quite made a name for herself, and she was running her cake business out of her home. When I laid my eyes on my son's cake, one word immediately came to mind: Masterpiece! And the first word out of my mouth was 'Wow!' The cake was definitely worth the money that I paid for it - in fact, I would say that I got more than my money's worth. The cake was a two-tiered, chocolate/vanilla marble Sesame Street cake. It exceeded my expectations and wowed my guests (including my son!) Even though he was only a year-old, he couldn't take his eyes off of it. Many of my guests asked for Alex' contact information. It was a shame to have to cut into the cake, but unfortunately food cannot be preserved forever, so after having admired it, in went the knife. It was as good as it looked! It was perfect, had just the right amount of sweetness with a melt-in-your mouth texture. I am not a big cake eater, but it even had me going for seconds!
Having seen many other cakes, I can honestly say that they don't compare with the one that Alex made for me.
Alex has amazing talent and is passionate about what she does. She is very pleasant, makes you feel comfortable and like you've known her for years. She will do all that she can to ensure that you are satisfied and she is very budget-friendly. She is the epitome of what customer satisfaction is all about. We are preparing to celebrate my son’s 2nd Birthday soon, and naturally, I have chosen Alex to create his cake. I no longer feel the need to shop around for something attractive and delicious; Alex has become my one stop shop for all of my cake needs!
If you are looking for a gorgeous creation, whether it be replicated from a picture you saw somewhere, or an idea in your own mind, go with Alex. Disappointment is not a word that exists when it comes to her work!
Sheila: As a mom of 4 with a large extended family, there is always a celebration in the works in my house. When we want to make an occasion really special, we always call Alex at A Piece of Cake. Her creations are unique, one-of-a-kind works of art and are delicious, too! I know first hand that Alex can make my 'vision' of a cake come to life...but also that when I don't have a vision, I can trust her to surprise me with something absolutely wonderful. For me, there is no other choice than A Piece of Cake.
Sophie: I just wanted to say that my daughter was blown away by the beautiful cake you made! Julie and I watch "Cake Boss" regularly and she would often say how much she would love to taste cake like the ones on TV. She was so thrilled to see the "Peace" cake you made, she was speechless! Thank you very much for your hard work. You made her day!
Nicole: I was looking for an original favor for my daughter's wedding shower, and thought cookies would be fun. I remembered seeing some beautiful creations on a friend's facebook page, and decided to get in touch with A Piece of Cake. I had never met or spoken to Alex, but a simple phone call was all it took. She created amazing (and delicious) cookies, all in various shapes and in the perfect colours. The presentation was fantastic. They were a huge hit with the guests and, most important, with the bride-to-be. I will be a returning customer!
